1. Shipping & Dispatch

● FREE FULLY INSURED and TRACKED worldwide postage.
● Fully packaged with jewellery case, presentation box and ribbon bow. Paper gift wrap available upon request.
● We ship 5 days a week.
● Dispatch time: within 48 hours from clearance of payment.
● Delivery time: UK 2-3 working days / Worldwide 5-7 days.
● Purchases with be sent using one of these delivery providers:
– Royal Mail special Delivery
– Fed Ex
– DHL
● It is company policy to only ship items to the address listed in the payment system that has been used during the checkout process.

2. Prices

While we try to ensure that all prices listed on the website are correct, errors may occur. In the instance of a pricing error we reserve the right to terminate the sale and correct the pricing error. The customer will be offered to purchase the item at the new price but Fine Jewels of Harrogate have no obligation to sell at the price that was in error.

3. Deposit

We are happy to hold an item on reserve for a customer with a downpayment of 20% deposit with the balance payable by arrangement.

4. Refunds and Returns

Returns for showroom purchases:
For items purchased or viewed prior to purchase in our showroom an exchange or credit note will be offered.

Returns for altered goods:
If an item has been sized altered or engraved prior to delivery an exchange or credit note will be offered.

Returns for online and telephone purchases:
As this purchase has been made through the distance selling methods you are entitled by law to cancel this order within 14 working days by email or telephone.

Returned goods must be in pristine and unused condition, be returned in the original packaging, without any alterations, tampering, unauthorised testing or damage. Returned goods will be inspected on receipt for any damage which may have been caused by the client. All the correct paperwork must be included with the return, which is the client’s responsibility to pack safely and securely. We reserve the right to deduct any cost if the article is damaged by the client and its value has been diminished.

Returns or credits will be processed within 14 days of receipt and inspection of item(s) using the same payment method as the client used to purchase the goods originally. We will confirm receipt of the returned item(s) and completion of the refund by email.
Return postage will be paid by the buyer.

We are not responsible for charges made to clients by payment portal or exchange rate differentials that occur.

International Returns
International returns should be clearly marked as goods being returned and the package and paperwork marked as per our instructions. Failure to do this may result in delays to the return and the package may even be returned to the sender. Any customs charges, duty and VAT that may arise due to incorrect paperwork being used with the return will also be deducted from the refund amount.

Return of Goods

If you wish to return an item we request that you email sales@finejewelsofharrogate.co.uk or telephone 01423 368767 to inform us of your intention. We must receive the item back within 14 days for you to qualify for a refund.

You shall then be required to send back the goods or hand them over to us at the address below without undue delay and in any event not later than 14 days from time the goods were received. This must be a signed for, fully insured delivery method such as Royal Mail Special Delivery, DHL (www.dhl.com), FedEx (www.FedEx.com) or similar.

The customer is wholly liable for the cost of the return shipping and postage.

In the unlikely event of an item going missing in the post, we reserve the right to withhold the refund payment until 40 days after it was first sent. It is also the responsibility of the customer to provide all the shipping receipts in such an instance and if they cannot do so we reserve the right not to refund.

5. Re-sizing:
● Most of our rings can be resized however due to differing styles and construction customers are advised to check with us first about a specific piece. This service is FREE. On the rare occurence a ring has to be altered significantly to adjust to the correct size there may be a small charge applied.
● Estimated time to resize is 7-10 days.
● Once a ring is resized a refund cannot be offered but it is possible to exchange.

6. Alterations

We will always quote for an alteration and give an approximate time scale for completion.

7. Faulty Goods

Within 30 days from when the customer has taken ownership of the goods, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the customer has an early right to reject goods that are unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose or not as described. The customer will receive a refund in full.
If an item is faulty and needs to be returned, the customer does not need to pay postage costs for the return of the faulty item. If a customer is asked to return an item that arrived damaged, not as described or faulty, the retailer should refund the total cost of the return.

8. Distance and Online Selling

7.1 All products are sold subject to the Terms and Conditions. Certain words and phrases have special meanings when used in these Terms and Conditions. These words and phrases are defined in the section towards the end of these Terms and Conditions.

7.2 Basis of Sale – Only by clicking ‘Complete Purchase’ you offer to buy the Goods at the prices indicated including any delivery charges that apply to your purchase. All orders will be subject to these conditions. If your order is accepted, you will be notified of this soon after you submit your order. As the confirmation is sent to you automatically, an error may have been made of which we are not aware despite our best efforts. Because of this we retain the right to cancel the order as set out under the ‘Prices’ heading.

7.3 Acceptance of Order – Your order becomes binding as soon as we have accepted it, subject to your rights of cancellation. Your order will be accepted as soon as we have confirmed your order. Our acceptance of your order is conditional on the availability of the Products you have ordered. If any of the Products you have ordered are unavailable or should events occur beyond our reasonable control, we reserve the right to cancel your order. In such circumstances we shall let you know as soon as possible.

7.4 Prices Every effort is made to ensure the prices shown are correct at the time of publication including VAT where applicable. If an error has been made, we or you may cancel the order in relation to some or all of the Goods as indicated under ‘Prices’ section.
The price for the Products you order will be confirmed to you when or soon after you place your order. All prices are in £ Sterling and include VAT (where applicable) but exclude delivery charges where they apply.

7.5 Payment Methods – You may pay by Credit Card, Debit Cards, Direct Bank Transfer/Money Wire, Cash or Cheque made payable to Fine Jewels of Harrogate.

7.6 Errors – Every effort is made to ensure that all the information provided on Fine Jewels of Harrogate website is correct at the time of going online.

7.7 Security – The Fine Jewels of Harrogate website uses industry standard methods to ensure that all the personal details you give us are not misused or shared with other parties. We do not store any of your financial details, so you will need to key this information in each time you place an order.
The purchase area of our site is secure. We utilise industry standard technology and a secure third party payment gateway to guarantee a safe and secure shopping environment. All sensitive information such as credit card details, name, address, is encrypted by the payment gateway system. This means that information passed between your computer and our payment gateway cannot be read even in the unlikely event it is intercepted by someone else.

7.8 General – No order is binding on you or Fine Jewels of Harrogate until we have accepted it. You will own the items we supply you from the moment they are put in the hands of the postal service, or with our carriers, or on payment in full of the price of the Goods and any delivery charge, whichever is later. These Terms and Conditions cannot be varied by you or us unless made in writing and signed by both parties.
If any provision contained in these Terms and Conditions is considered by any court or regulatory authority to be unfair, invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be considered deleted from these Terms and Conditions without affecting the other provisions.
The law of England and Wales governs these Terms and Conditions and all disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. These Terms and Conditions apply if you are dealing with us as a consumer. 9. Misrepresentation / Disclaimer

Where possible we provide independent gemmological certificates for diamonds gemstones and natural pearls. Weights plus colour and clarity assessments stated on our descriptions are approximate and done to the best of our knowledge due to the stones often being set in the mounting. We will always take due diligence to ensure they are as accurate as possible but should not be taken by a client to be the exact weight unless stated on a certificate. Certificate weights and items that have been unset and weighed in a description may be subject to a 1% difference due to the slight variants of calibration from different sets of scales.

All items sold with certificates are sold subject to the opinions on those certificates and we will not accept other third party opinions

If the item has been proven to be misrepresented you will receive a full refund.

Any unauthorised testing will result in no refunds being made under any circumstances.
